Hello Camp Families!

Thank you so much for all of the emails that we have been receiving! We love hearing from you!

With camp right around the corner (Jr. Camp & Explorers opens in just 53 days!), we are hard at work getting ready for our 2013 season; which is sure to be our best ever! 

This week we were so excited to give you a tour of our beautiful Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds (or HKC as we know it), located in Wheatley Heights. Our Junior campers (Kindergarten – 4^th grade) spend their days here for the majority of the summer, and our Explorers (5^th & 6^th graders) enjoy the grounds a few days a week in between traveling.  Nestled in the woods of Long Island, our HKC amenities allow campers to experience a real “sleepaway camp” feeling while staying in a day camp setting.  It is a place full of the wonder of nature; the perfect setting for your child to explore, imagine, and create memories to last a lifetime!

Some of the amenities at HKC (Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds) include:

·      4 swimming pools - including a water slide - for every level of swimmer to enjoy.

·      Professionally sculpted ball fields, including soccer, baseball, volleyball and basketball.

·      Extreme ropes course featuring a woods-based zipline - perfect for learning team-building skills as well as working towards personal goals.

·      Hiking trails in a completely natural setting.

·      Gaga courts (everyone's favorite!).

·      Brand new, state of the art indoor sports facility for rainy days.

·      TEVA program – exciting nature and environment projects for a new generation.

·      Outdoor amphitheater for morning round-up, as well as special events and shows throughout the summer.

·      Driving range and mini-golf course for any size camper!

·      Arts & crafts center for campers to explore their creative side.

Oceanside Preschool Division

Hi Everyone!

Helene Nelson here, Director of Early Childhood at the Friedberg JCC, Oceanside. It was so nice to speak with you all through this week's video blog, and now I'm here to tell you a little more about all of the great offerings of Camp Friedberg's Oceanside Preschool Division!

As we spoke about on the video, we offer year-round services here at the JCC Early Childhood Center for children 6 months to 5 years. For our 2 - 6 year olds, we are pleased to offer an amazing  camp experience during the summer months! All of Camp Friedberg's Preschool Divisions are designed with the young child in mind as we program our camp to fit your child, rather than water down a "big-kid" camp to make it accessible to them.

Hello again!  Welcome to Camp Friedberg!

Thank you all so much for submitting your questions to us!  Today we have a question from a parent of a 7 year old, who writes, “I’m interested in sending my daughter to day camp this summer and am exploring my options.  Why choose Camp Friedberg?”

What a great question! There are so many reasons to choose Camp Friedberg...

Hello, and welcome to the Camp Friedberg blog!

With camp right around the corner, we’re busy working hard getting ready for this summer! In the meantime, we are looking forward to giving you the opportunity to get to know us, and to ask us any questions you might have about our upcoming camp summer. Each week we will bring you a new video introducing you to different aspects of Camp Friedberg and our wonderful staff members, as well as addressing any questions and concerns you may have.
